Weltreise 2014: Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta 13th of March 2014

Vorweg eine bemerkenswerte Nachricht. Janis hat gestern tatsächlich keine Windel gebraucht und auch heute Nacht seine Pampers nicht markiert – Super Janis !!! Irgendwie war heute Morgen nicht zu erkennen wie heiss der Tag werden sollte. Nach dem Frühstück ging es daher auch wieder direkt zum Sportcenter. Janis wollte unbedingt mit Tischtennis beginnen. Leider liess der Wind weder dies noch Badminton zu, so dass wir uns auf die grösseren Bälle konzentrierten. Basketball und Tennis verliefen ganz OK und auch im English Kricket gelangen uns ein paar gute Schläge. Von diesem Zeitpunkt an war es eigentlich nur noch im Pool oder in klimatisierten Räumen erträglich. Wir mussten die Kids und auch uns wirklich zum ersten Mal ganz bewusst aus der Sonne nehmen und haben dennoch Spuren des Tages davon getragen (zum Glück nur die ErwachsenenJ). Ice Cream und Sorbet kamen da am Nachmittag wie gerufen und nach einer kleinen Runde Uno ging es dann wieder in den Pool. Diesmal bevorzugten wir aber den grossen Infinity Pool, der mit Wassertiefen von 60, über 90 bis 120 cm wesentlich mehr Spielmöglichkeiten zuliess. Kein Wunder, dass wir die Kinder nur schwer in Richtung Abendessen loseisen konnten. Heute gab es im „The Sevens Seas“ ein Buffet italienischer Köstlichkeiten. Dieses Restaurant gehört zu den besten Thailands. Nach 3 Tagen und mehreren Gängen können wir diese Auszeichnung absolut nachvollziehen. Untermalt wurde das Dinner zudem noch mit toller Live-Musik. Jetzt hoffen wir, dass es ein wenig abkühlt und freuen uns auf die Elefanten Safari am Freitag.

PS: Ganz herzlichen Glückwunsch an Nadja (Domi’s Freundin) zum Akupunktur – Diplom! Ich bin ganz schön neidisch, wir freuen uns aber alle riesig für dich!!!

A little remark at the beginning: Janis did not use his nappies all day yesterday and not even last night... well done Janis J Somehow it was not noticeable this morning how hot the day would get. So as usual, we went to the sport center after breakfast and Janis did absolutely want to start with table tennis. Due to the wind, it was not really possible, and neither badminton, so we had to concentrate on the bigger balls. Basketball and tennis was pretty ok, and even the English cricket went pretty well. From that moment on you could only really bear the heat either in the pool or in an air conditioned room. For the first time we really had to take the kids out of the sun but we still had to bear some traces of the sun. Luckily only the adults... So ice-cream was really right on cue and after a “Uno”-session (card game) we jumped again into the pool. But this time we decided to go to the big Infinity pool, which gave us lots of more possibilities with its different depths of 0.6 m, 0.9 m, and 1.20m. It is not surprising we hardly got the kids out of the water to go for dinner. We had a buffet with Italian specialities in the restaurant “The seven seas” tonight. “The seven seas” is known as one of the best restaurants in Thailand, and after 3 days and several courses we are absolutely able to relate to it. We even had some great live music tonight. Now we just hope the weather will cool down at least a little bit and we are looking forward to an elephant safari tomorrow.

PS: Congratulations Nadja (Domi’s girlfriend) for your final exams in acupuncture!! I am pretty jealous, but we are all very happy for you!
